Workshop Description

  • This workshop was initially created as a webinar for an immigrant organization in BC. This workshop is meant to be interactive and make space for educators to share their experiences and think together about how to best support newcomer children and families. Please note, this workshop is geared toward supporting newcomer families however the information shared on stress, adversity, and supportive programming can be helpful for a diversity of children and families.

Ana Valle Rivera

Ana Valle Rivera is the Founder of Early Years Workshops. Ana has a diploma in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor in Child and Youth Care, and is currently completing a Master of Professional Education. Ana supports others to think in multiple perspectives and improve pedagogical, social, emotional, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and intuitive practices.

FAQ

  • How do I log onto the live workshop and access the zoom link?

    Participants will need to create an account and pay upon registration. Remember to save your password, you will need so sign in again to access the workshop and your certificate. Participants will get a reminder email 1-2 days before the workshop.

  • What technology do I need?

    Participants will need a laptop or computer with video, audio and reliable internet connection. Tablets, smartphones, and other small devices can be used but may limit functionality. To confirm attendance and maximize participation, participants are strongly suggested to keep their cameras on during the workshop unless otherwise specified.

  • Can I get a receipt?

    Once you have registered and paid you will receive an automatic confirmation email and receipt If you need a more detailed receipt please contact the instructor directly.

  • What happens if I am late or miss the live zoom?

    Participants who are more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed into the workshop and no refund will be provided.

  • Can I record or will there be a recording?

    Live workshops are not recorded. Participants are not allowed to take photos of slides, record or distribute any portion of live workshops without permission by the facilitator.

  • Will I get a certificate of completion?

    Certificates of completion will be available within 24 hours after the workshop is completed and attendance is verified. Remember to download your certificate and any resource materials as soon as possible.
